National Western Stockshow Association

It is our mission to serve producers and consumers throughout the world by being the premier Stock Show, Rodie, Horse Show, and center for year-round events. As a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization governed by the Western Stock Show Association's Board of Directors, the National Western provides college and graduate scholarships in agriculture and medicine for practice in rural areas.

Extreme Community Makeover coordinates volunteer teams to partner with underserved people to improve their own homes and neighborhoods. 

Size limit: 5-500 volunteers.

Days/time limit: Time frame is primarily spring, summer, and fall. We focus on eight specific Denver neighborhoods, so that’s where projects would take place.

Food Bank of the Rockies

We will end hunger by efficiently procuring and distributing food and essentials to the hungry, through our programs and partner agencies.

Size Limit: 80 - AM, 40 - PM for weekdays, 30 AM&PM on Saturdays

Days/time limit: A morning shift from 8:45am – 12:00pm, and an afternoon shift from 12:15pm – 3:30pm, Monday – Saturday.

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver

 People in our community, and all over the world, partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Habitat Metro Denver has become one of the largest affiliates in the U.S., serving over 950 families in the Denver community.

Days/time limit: Summer, Spring, Fall: Groups are typically capped at 10 volunteers. •  Winter: Large groups are welcome! We can often accommodate groups up to 30 volunteers.

Ride the Rockies, Pedal the Plains

Ride The Rockies and Pedal The Plains are signature events of the Denver Post Community Foundation.

The dates are September 13 - 15 2019, The locations are Lamar, Holly and Springfield CO and volunteers can sign up for one day or all three days (three days are preferred).

The mission of Denver Post Community is to improve and enrich the lives of those in our community through support of programs that benefit arts and culture; children and youth; education and literacy; and the provision of basic human services.

Severe Weather Shelter Network

Severe Weather Shelter Network partners with community organizations and agencies to provide overnight shelter on life threatening winter nights for individuals living on the streets.

Size Limit: Up to 50

Days/time limit: October through May on days when severe weather has been declared. Open 7 days a week. Time shifts vary from 6pm to 9pm or 6pm to 7:30am, Three different shelter sites serving Jefferson & Arapahoe Counties.

The Action Center

The mission of The Action Center is to provide an immediate response to basic human needsand promote pathways to self sufficiency.

Size limit: 4 to15 volunteers on weekdays and special events, 10 to 50 on weekends and special projects.

We Don't Waste

We Don't Waste is an innovative food recovery organization. We reduce food waste by recovering food from venues, events, caterers, restaurants, and other major food distributors. We then deliver the food to community-based non-profit agencies serving vulnerable populations, thereby increasing food security within those populations. We serve as the link between food sources and the underserved. 

Size Limit: 40 people maximum

Days/time limit: Most opportuninites are on weekdays. Some weeknights and weekends. 

I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County

The mission of the “I Have A Dream” Foundation of Boulder County is to empower children from low-income communities (“Dreamer Scholars”) to succeed in school, college and career. 

Size limit: Three to 15 volunteers.
