The Golden Optimists Bicycle Recycle Program is looking for boardmembers to help us with our mission of providing bikes to people who need them. There are various aspects of our organization and we need people with vision around recruting and training new volunteers, regular communications with volunteers and many other aspects of running a bike shop.
Volunteer Ushers needed for both our Main Stage Playhouse and our Children's Theater
Miners Alley Playhouse is a small Professional Theatre in the heart of Golden, Colorado. As a non-profit venue, we rely on a friendly, dependable volunteer base to help us thrive as a vibrant part of the Golden community. Once we are able to re-open safely in the aftermath of the pandemic, we will need many volunteers to join our Miners Alley Family.
If you love live theater and are interested in becoming a Volunteer Usher and seeing plays for free, please contact me:

Join HistoriCorps, the Workforce for Saving Places, to save the historic Daniels Park Wellhouse! This is a one-week project for volunteers of ANY skill level to learn traditional building techniques and give back to Denver Mountain Parks. Volunteers can commute or camp right onsite with us! HistoriCorps provides all training, meals, tools, and equipment.
HistoriCorps projects are free for volunteers! Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to the campsite, sleeping equipment, work clothes and boots, and other personal gear.
This project is great for anyone who likes history, working with their hands, and wants to preserve an historic Mountain Park amidst rapid suburb development.

Planning Committee Volunteer - This is a continuous volunteer position where you would help with planning the festival throughout the year. The committee typically meets one (1) time per month for approximately 2 hours in the Denver Metro area. Committee members assist with screening and judging film submissions, soliciting sponsors, fundraising, marketing, logistic planning and more! If you are interested in this option, you would be added to a specific email list to receive information on monthly meetings and would be asked to attend most monthly meetings as well as assist on smaller tasks/projects outside of meetings.
Every year, CASA Jeffco/Gilpin volunteers are appointed to nearly 300 cases of child abuse and neglect, serving more than 370 children in the 1st Judicial District. Of those 300 cases, CASA Jeffco/Gilpin volunteers were appointed to 11 Truancy Court cases. CASA Jeffco/Gilpin is lucky to have the support of 243 active CASA Jeffco/Gilpin volunteers. Yet, we are only able to serve 34% of the cases that need a child advocate, leaving hundreds of children without a voice in our court system. The devastating effects of broken lives can be changed when a CASA volunteer steps up to advocate for child abuse victims. Our dedicated, highly trained volunteers are the very cornerstone of our program at CASA Jeffco/Gilpin. They strive to ensure that children in protective custody receive the necessary services for their physical, emotional and educational well-being and safety.Volunteers are ordinary citizens that make an extraordinary commitment to perform a key role in breaking the cycle of child abuse, one child at a time. We are always in search of more volunteer advocates.
